Yingzi Sakura Huang is currently a team lead and the product admin of a knowledge base serving over 15,000 users at Equinix, the biggest data center company in the world that ensures critical services and the internet works without a hitch. She is also the Americas Membership lead of the AANHPI employee group at Equinix, and regularly works with employee group leads on events aimed at bringing the community together. She has over 10 years of project and stakeholder management experience across a wide variety of roles in technology, banking and retail industries.
Sakura is originally from Shanghai, China. She immigrated to the United States in 2000 with her mother to live with her aging grandparents in Oakland, California. She is a First Generation Low-Income graduate of Harvard College with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, focusing in Leadership and Organizational Behavior. Prior to that, she graduated at the top of her high school class from The College Preparatory School in Oakland.
After work, Sakura often volunteers as a panelist or MC / host with the San Francisco Job Forum, a 70 plus year old organization funded by the SF Chamber of Commerce dedicated to helping anyone in the public find work. In the last few years, she has also curated and regularly shares her own collection of mostly free resources for job seekers and workers on Notion.
In her spare time, Sakura paddles with the San Francisco Dragon Warriors. She is competing with the Dragon Warriors in Ravenna, Italy for the 2024 Dragon Boat World Championship this September. She looks forward to exploring other forms of paddle sports, such as one, two, four, and six person paddling.
For fun and relaxation, Sakura enjoys video and board gaming; karaoke; eating, making, and sharing delicious food; and fawning over her chonky tabby cat, Hot Pot, as well as everyone else's pets.
