Partner at Consulting Firm, Former Engineer

Juan Carlos is a Partner at the Boston Consulting Group where he works with BCG's clients in the banking and finance industry on topics ranging from strategy to operational improvements. He started his career before consulting as an engineer working on projects ranging from the design of robotic water fountains (including one that was featured in a Mission Impossible movie) to evaluating offshore oil reservoirs using robotic probes.

He is a strong believer that there is too much wasted human potential in our country, and globally. Having been raised modestly (free/reduced lunch for a good portion of childhood, and first generation college), he has seen first hand the potential of too many talented kids go to waste. He believes his parents, and mentors he has been fortunate to meet, are what made a difference in his outcome, and that we as a society should strive to empower all kids to meet their potential.

Juan Carlos is a graduate of the NYC Public School system from elementary school to high school. Juan Carlos has his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. In his spare time Juan Carlos enjoys playing with his daughter, tinkering with his 3D printer, traveling, or fixing things around the house.
