Gabriel Reyes is the Founder and CEO of FLi Sci, a nonprofit dedicated to diversifying the next generation of scientists by connecting low-income students with hands-on research experiences. Through FLi Sci, Gabriel has created programs that provide mentorship, skill-building, and access to research labs, aiming to inspire and support students pursuing STEM careers at the graduate level.
Under his leadership, FLi Sci has expanded to serve students in multiple states, forging partnerships with educational institutions and community foundations. Gabriel is a recipient of the Echoing Green and Roddenberry Fellowships, and his work has been featured in initiatives with the Federation of American Scientists and other leading organizations.
Originally from Albuquerque, NM, Gabriel earned a Sc.B. in Cognitive Neuroscience from Brown University and an M.S. in Neuroscience and Education from Columbia University. As a Knight-Hennessy Scholar and Quad Fellow, Gabriel is currently pursuing a PhD in Developmental and Psychological Sciences at Stanford University, where his research focuses on the psychological effects of financial scarcity on children’s and adolescents' motivations and educational choices.
