Stanford JD/MBA & Former White House Staffer

Machmud Makhmudov is a JD/MBA candidate and Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford University. An Uzbek-Uighur immigrant, he grew up in metro Atlanta, where he developed a debilitating addiction to fast food and a love for baseball. Recruited to attend Oberlin College and compete on the varsity baseball team, Machmud graduated with a BA in Politics and was named a Truman Scholar for leadership in public service. He then attended the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, reading for an MPhil in Political Theory. Machmud went on to work in speechwriting and on a number of political campaigns, including the Biden 2020 campaign's policy team. Most recently, Machmud served on the White House COVID Response Team and as Chief of Staff for Georgia State Representative Sam Park. He is excited for a life and career empowering others, building a healthier and more sustainable American South, and promoting understanding and goodwill between diverse communities across the world.
