Sabreena El-Amin is a Partner at CTM Legal Group, a Chicago-based law firm. Immediately before this role, she served as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the City of Chicago’s Office of the Inspector General, where she primarily dealt with police and government oversight with an eye toward racial and gender issues. Sabreena has an extensive legal background in complex civil litigation, labor law, and employment law, including litigating and advising on various discrimination matters. Sabreena’s volunteer, educational, and employment experience mirror her devotion to issues at the intersection of criminal justice, racial equity, community development, psychology, and the law. She has also shown a commitment to public service including through her experience with the Public Interest Law Initiative where she served as an intern, fellow, board member, and Co-Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Working Group. Sabreena earned a BA in Psychology from DePaul University and a JD from Harvard Law School, where she served as a contributor and editor of the Journal of Racial and Ethnic Justice. During her time at DePaul, Sabreena interned with the Egan Urban Center where she developed, implemented, and evaluated programs focused on social justice and community development. Sabreena is a native of Chicago’s South Side and a graduate of Whitney Young High School.
